Default Alloys Wanted - Standard 16" with decent Tyres

Hey
My wheels on my daily workhorse V40 T4 are currently BBS Craters.
They really have seen better days and the 2 fronts slowly deflate from around the rim so suffering from corrosion.
It will be a lot cheaper and easier to replace the wheels then get a refurb. Helped by that fact the tyres are cheap budgets and struggle for grip in the wet!
So basically, looking to replace the front 2 with a pair of Craters wrapped in decent tyres but will also consider replacing all 4 with either Craters or similar 16" alloys with decent tyres.

In Norfolk but can collect in Cambs, Norfolk, Suffolk etc or you can ship to me.
Just let me know what you have, price etc. Can't replid to PMs (I dont think) so either reply or PM me your email address.

That's about it

Cheers

I have a set of 16" Galacticas, well 5 actually, tyres are varying, little bit of scuffing on a couple of the wheels and one has a slow puncture, but basically a good set. Will check the tread depth and post more details and some pics for you if you're interested. Looking for £80+delivery for the 5.

Hey mate, thanks for that.
Yeah possibly interested. A bit of scuffing isn't an issue at all.
Tread depth will be good as would tyre make/model as need something with decent grip, at least for the 2 to put on the front as tired of having no grip in the wet!
Let me know the details
Cheers

Hi Jimbo,

Pics of my 16" Galacticas...
#1 Cooper Zeon CS6, approx 3-4mm tread

While I was checking this one out, I found a nice nail in it. It doesn't leak though, so could be repaired.

#2 Cooper Zeon CS6, approx 3-4mm

#3 Pirelli P7, approx 3mm

#4 Runway Enduro-916, approx 4mm tread.

#5 WanLi S-1088, approx 6-7mm tread. Although this one's got lots of tread, it has got a slow puncture and the sidewall has been part-rubbed away on the outside of the tyre. There is also a bit of a ding on the alloy on this one, see first pic at 6 o'clock. I don't know where the puncture is, I don't have a big enough bucket

I don't want you to think they are perfect, they are a little bit scuffed and scraped, and there is some pitting of the lacquer in the spokes, really hard to photograph as you don't really notice it unless you're close up, then it looks awful , but pic below to give you an idea of what I mean...

To summarise
#1 Cooper Zeon CS6, approx 3-4mm tread + nail, could be repaired.
There is also a bit of a ding on the alloy.

Ideal for a light refurb project, let me know if you're interested.

Hey Alex

Thanks for all the pics and details mate, really appreciated.
Due to the nail being in one and probably needing better tyres for the T4 for grip etc Ill give them a miss mate. If I could collect wouldn't be an issue but with shipping on top it will be more then I want to spend if Id want new tyres too.
Thanks again and hopefully you can sort something with 1pug205

James
