ignition module
Having had a few experts? (BMW,VAUXHALL,SEAT, THE BLOKE DOWN THE PUB ETC,)listen to my engine all of them have concluded that the engine is just verging on a mis-fire. Now although its possible that the distributer is at fault?. Could it be the ignition module??????? that is the problem? Also GSF car parts have an ignition module that has a different part number to the original bosch number but is listed as being for my model (1989 GL injection)
has any one got any info on this I will be gratefull. I HAVE replaced all the igniton parts except the module, replaced the injectors, and adjusted the timing. Cheers |

Most pattern parts suppliers seem to list only two modules one of which is for early models and has 1 less terminal. There seem to have beeen several different Bosch part numbers over the years but I have tried three different ones on my 1990 and all work OK. If you are anywhere near Oxford I have one you can try by substitution. Has the Hall Effect sensor in the distributor been tested or changed? These tend to fail more often than the module.
