Default Leather seats = Sweaty back

Is it just me or do your leather seats make your back sweat sometimes?

My last 3 cars have had leathers but the S40 is the only one that I've had this problem. I surmise it might be to do with the 'shape' of the backrest being quite snug or shaped in such a way to enclose your back preventing air flow around you?

i did 400 miles in my s40 this weekend and it was very hot. no sweaty back

i did have the air con on at 22 most of the time, so maybe that was a factor.

Leather will make you sweat to some degree in this weather but A/C does help

Hehe, laugh @ Nesbitt.

I'm beginning to wonder about leathers now too, what with their scuffs/scratches and the slide'o'matic finish!

In my last car I sent my Wife skidding from one side of the rear bench to the other upon entering a fast roundabout!

I'm not normally a sweaty beast but I think I've been getting hot and then jumping in the car, driving, sometimes with no a/c and the window open and the wet-back syndrome doesn't have a chance to clear up.

I have full leather, and i think the only thing about leather is it looks nice, other than that i would opt for full cloth every time, cooler in the summer warmer in the winter and a softer feel to sit on, but then saying that sweets do wipe off easier from leather (children)

Have to say that it is and always has been leather for me and I don't think you can beat it personally....I sweat very easily but never found leather to be the problem....

Now the bit about sending your wife "skidding from one side of the rear bench to the other"....I like the sound of and I shall be out later tonight to try that one out!!!!!

Getting back to the question what do you clean your leather seats with? Some products make the leather too shiney and therefore slippery....Maybe try a proper leather cream conditioner and don't 'buff' the seats up??

Any way I'm off to do some "skidding" across my back seat!!!!!......

Cheers

Perhaps look at it this way: you probably sweat the same whatever, so at least with the leather your body juices (and that of those who came before) don't get soaked in

Ever seen a mouldy leather seat?
