Default Abs unit

Afternoon all newbie here, my abs unit (the light) has been playing up for a while now, the unit has been removed and the joints all re soldered but the guy doing the job for me has said that the capacitors have gone but he doesn't know what the capacitance of them is so he can replace them. He has had a good look at the ones he has removed but there is no writing on them whatsoever please help me people as without knowing my abs unit will stay broken. Thanks in advance.

Just swop it out Gonzo. but you'll need to check things first

A. Does your car have a "TRACS" Button

B. does it have 6 Brake pipe connections, on the ABS unit

I have recently changed my ABS unit (2000 C70) I was told by everybody that I MUST get the correct ABS ECU for my ABS pump .. WRONG!!!

if you get a FULL UNIT (Pump + ABS ECU) there will fit easily .. as long as they are for a "TRACS" car (Or NOT as the case maybe) they will fit with no problem ....

Try THIS one >>>>http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLVO-V70-S70-...item2a0df50fa9

But just remember IF you have a "TRACS" button you MUST get a unit thats stamped "ABS / TRACS" on the replacement unit.

NOTE** the one that I linked to IS NOT a "TRACS" unit ... See 2nd pic on ad ....it only says "CONTROL ABS UNIT"... on a car fitted with "TRACS" it would have "CONTROL ABS / TRACS" stamped on the side of the ECU Box

I would appreciate an ABS unit for my 850, 2.4lt, P reg,10 valve estate please. The details of my unit are:-Ate Controller, No. 9467382 6840,
Control Unit ABS. It is a flat black plastic case whick has 4 fixing points. I have resoldered mine some time ago but the problem is still present. If you do have such a unit in your possesion then I would really appreciate having it from you. All costs would of course be reimbursed. Many thanks.

Do all the corresponding numbers have to match or just the 4 at the end of the module in their own (6840 or 6480) etc.

As I said in my first post IF yer getting the WHOLE UNIT (NOT just the ECU) the numbers are irrelevent if you have "TRACS" it MUST SAY "TRACS" on the unit (if you aint got Tracs then obviously it don't matter.)

The ONLY TIME the numbers ARE RELEVENT is if your just swopping out the ECU part of the ABS unit then the number on the ECU MUST MATCH the number on the ABS PUMP/UNIT

so... "TRACS" button on Dash ..you need a unit thats stamped "ABS/TRACS UNIT"

NO Tracs button on Dash You need a unit Stamped "ABS UNIT" or ABS/STC ect

IIRC a "TRACS" car has 6 Brake pipe connections where-as "NONE TRACS" has only 5
