Default V60 2013 lock / unlock

I have had a play around in the menus trying to find a way to get the locking on the rear doors / hatch to unlock when I arrive somewhere and get out of the car.
I know I can unlock all by pressing the unlock button on the drivers door but I very often forget and get to the rear of the car and then have to get the fob out and press the fob button to release the hatch. Real pain !!!

The other issue with locking I would like to find out about is if it is possible to get the hatch to self lock after going back to the car, say in a supermarket, to drop some gear in the back before going off again.
At the moment pressing the fob hatch release button gets me in the boot but when I shut it again I have to press the all car lock button lock it it up again....

If that is the normal case then someone at Volvo needs a slap..there is no point in having a separate hatch release button if the main button has to be used to lock the hatch again, might as well have just opened the complete car lock system, !!!!

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated

With my S60 (and my Ford Focus estate) if I press the boot release button twice it unlocks the boot and not the car doors. When the boot is closed again the car is locked.

I have not found anything that will unlock the boot by default when stopping and opening the doors when the autolock function is on. It only locks, it does not unlock.

Thanks for that, looks like the system is setup that way then.

If I press the boot release once it doesn’t open the doors, just the tailgate , but shutting the tailgate will not autolock it. Hence using the all round lock button ..nuts !!!

What happens if you press the boot release button twice in succession on the remote ? I think that may fix your issue with it not locking when closing again.

Edit: Nope, I'm wrong. One press on the boot release of my remote unlocks the boot and I have to press the release button on the boot lid to open it. Two presses on the boot release of the remote pops the boot lid open an inch or two so it can be lifted without pressing the release button on the boot lid. Neither of them lock the boot again when closing, that has to be done with the lock button on the remote.

I always presumed this was to prevent you accidentally locking your keys in the boot.

Something I used to do frequently with the old style key and slam shut type boot.

I understand that! Been there, done that!!

Using a big remote there is less chance of that but I have managed to leave the remote jammed in the ignition slot several times, walking away from the car wondering what have done with the remote !!!
I think that is down to the fact of the two operations to switch the engine off...another pointless example of modern cars....along with lane assist, speed control, stop/start..etc .. etc ...now you've done it, got me going !!!
