Did you have to use wheel spacers for the wheels to fit? I had a very nice set of v70 T5 alloys that I fitted to my E reg 740 once. Looked the part and really filled the arches, but didnt really fit that well due to rubbing e.t.c

I think a whole V90 front end may well simply bolt straight on. Perhaps worth finding out.... Youd have basically a v90 then...

LOL.

Yeah, then just bolt on a new engine, gearbox, suspension, interior and the V90 goodies too!

Easy!

Cheers,
Paul.

Yours is the second 940 in two days with it's rear window wiper parked on the wrong side. I think that the motor has been mounted upside down! You should not really have V70 wheels fitted as the offset is incorrect for 940s. 850/S/V70 and post 1995 960s all have 43mm offset whilst all 200, 700 and 940 models have 25mm offset. This has the effect of putting the steering geometry out and increasing tyre wear. It could even promote loss of grip sooner in bad weather conditions. Your safety is uppermost in my mind with this message.

All the best, Peter.

thanks peter, i appreciate your awareness of my safety,
however i purchased a set of spacers from gilracing in the US they are made with the greates care from excellent materials for volvo enthusiasts, the fitment of later wheels seems to be a big thing there as such the kit is everyhting you need in a box.
it consists of 2 sets of spacers and a full set of 40 bolts,
the rear spacers are larger than the front.
the effect is not simply balancing up the different offset but also it widens the track to give better handling and also fills the arches,
apparantly they are so spacious to make room for snow chains.
did my homework before purchasing!!!!
the way the £ - $ is just now its accesible for us in the UK!!!
as for the motor i recently fixed it as it had came loose so i may have mounted it the wrong way - still does the job!
i appreciate you pointing it out tho peter as when i was doing my research the effects of incorrect fitment sounded a bit scary hence i splashed out on the gil racing kit.

see my reply to peter about the spacers www.gilracing.com
as for the front end, im undertaking some bodywork at the moment - addressing the appearance of some front arch bubbling before it becomes unsightly and im considering taking some influence from the US and fitting either a V90 or 850 bumper.
