Uneven tyre wear
Xc90 D5 2004 163
My front drivers side tyre has worn on the inner edge. Fairly new hankook tyre. Was fine last month at the mot. I had wheel alignment done yesterday on Hunter machine. Ever so slightly out so had it corrected. I don't understand why the tyre has worn the way it has. The garage Hi Q said the tyre was possibly spining causing the worn edge . It's not a gradual angle wear as you'd expect. Any thought as to wat the problem may be? Many thanks Last edited by ifzal123; Jul 20th, 2018 at 15:55. |

Is it rubbing on something on full lock?
You'd not get a step like that from a-b driving, it would be a smooth taper... |

Daft as it may sound, check your wheel arch liner...
I once had a strange zuzzing noise on the front at speed (i kniw you cant hear owt, but volvos are very insulated) but nothing to show, that was until I noticed some unusual abrasion on the liner... It had become detached from the bumper, at rest it sat where it should, at speed the air pushed it onto the wheel! Couple of self-tappers it was all sorted. |
