Default Breaking '96 850 TDI - Going soon!

Evening all

I'm due to take my silver '96 855 TDI to the scrap yard on Saturday, so shout now if there are any parts that you are interested in. I've already got quite a few parts off which will probably go on ebay or similar, but there is plenty of useful stuff still available!

Evening chaps

I'll see what I can get off on Saturday morning, but I'll only have an hour or so before I need to get it to the scrap yard as the new insurance laws mean that I can't afford to keep it on the road for another week as well as my working car.

I'm slightly wary about taking brake components off as I'll need my brakes (even if not assisted) to get towed down the road! As for the torque arm, I'll see if it comes off easily.

I'll let you know how I get on!

Bill

PS. For the brake vacuum pump, do you mean the dish-shaped cylinder with the brake fluid reservoir attached?

Hi bill. No, the vacuum pump is on the front of the engine, just behind the injector pipes in the middle. This provides the vacuum to the servo (with the resevoir attached), altho the engine needs to run to provide this.

Ah yes, I think I know the part you are thinking of. I have been having a little trouble getting the lower bolt of that as it isn't particularly accessible (or maybe my tools aren't dainty enough) but I'll have another go!

Hi Bill,

Hope you get this in time. Any chance of the fuel filler flap, and the colour-coded door mirror caps?

Cheers!

Hi Bill, I'm after the turbo/manifold/downpipe and oil pipes if you haven't already taken them off

Default Filler cap

Hi

Sorry for the delay in getting back - It has been a fairly manic week and I've not been able to catch up with e-mails etc at home.

I got up early last Saturday so that I could pull the last few items off my trusty car before taking it to the scrap yard (a bit of a rush as it doesn't stay open long on a Saturday).

Anyway, I have the filler flap (silver) and mirrors, but unless you have a particularly compelling offer, I was planning to keep the wing mirrors as complete units. If you are having difficulty sourcing ones of the correct colour then make me an offer and I can send you pictures before committing.

How about a fiver plus postage for the filler flap? I don't think it should be too much to post and I have a Jiffy for it.

Bill

Default Front Lower Torque Arm

Hi Mike

As above, sorry about the delay in responding. Do you still need the Torque Arm? I did have a thought that I should probably check that the one of the 'new' car is ok before sending this off, but I doesn't seem to have any untoward clunks!

Bill
