£7,995

Thats a down right bloody rip off! i certainly wouldnt pay extra for low mileage.

Infact, that much of a low mileage would worry me. its 10 years old and done 47k, so that generally means its been used for small trips to the shops, hence more wear on internals.

Id rather have a 960 thats done 140k miles and sat on the motorway all day.

and £7,995? even the most expensive of 960's are nowhere near that.

RUN, dont walk, away. Your being ripped off.

James, Deano's location shows MA so I'd say he means $7995 (US) so about £4000.......

Cancelled post due to being in the USA and my reply was based on UK prices.

Yeah, I spotted words like "wagon" and "carfax" and hence eyes went right to the location field to see 'ma'!

Anyway, however much it costs (in any currency) no point in considering buying it unless you've checked the documentation and - crucially! - driven it!!!!

Sorry, I stand corrected then, but unless USA differs a lot to UK, id still say £4,000 is still £2,000 too much.

Hi,

I concur with the above...
50K miles is too little in a car like this, which it means short trips.
That, as you know means the car never really gets to its correct operating temp, and thus is wearing more.

As for the price? I had to scrape myself off the floor for that!.
In the US cars are cheaper than in the UK.
I paid less than that for a newer V90 here in the UK.
Phone them up and advise you'll only be able to test drive the car following the extensive surgery to repair your split sides...

Hi, Old Volvos are much more expensive in the US than over here. It also depends which state you are in. In some states there is salt corrosion like the north of england. Other areas have flooding. The sunny states have issues of sun damage to interiors. On Brickboard.com, it is common to see high USD prices for older 740 / 940 / 240 cars. Maybe the low milage on this car is due to the car being off the road for winter?

Ive noticed on Turbobricks that the yanks seem to pay way over the odds for a car compared to the U.K. They pay good money for old bangers that would be almost worthless over here. The newer models are very expensive indeed!

Could the low mileage be due to it sitting in a nice garage for weeks on end, as opposed to frequent short trips?

You would've thought it was the opposite way round really, but I have seen ads for cars (even when you take exchange rates into count) as you say do seem alot of money compared with the UK market.

I guess not everything is cheap in the USA.
