Default auto / assited braking

Has anyone used the "auto brakes" yet ??

I used mine , well the car used them to be exact, the other night when coming up to my garage. I was trying to get the car near to the garage door to check the light setting (as I said before there is no way of knowing if they are on or not !!) and as I came close to the door , the car came to a sudden stop !

So the system does work !!

Bit of a strange feeling though, just hope I dont need it to work in a proper situation.

Blimey! How close were you to the garage door? I agree that the failure to display a light indicator is a bit of an issue especially in t his on-off weather.

My V70 has this, & it can be a pain. I need to park very close to my other car in my drive (uphill), & several times the car's slammed on the brakes as I do so. It's also done this as I turn in to my drive (maybe a low bush is fooling the 'outside' sensor as I turn), & also once at the entry barrier where I work.

In none of these situations was I in need of it! It also tends to wake the passengers up.
