Default 740 Wheel Help Please

Hi,

I'm not looking for large alloys maybe 15" or 16". In the past i have had vauxhalls and am aware offsets can be issues, do i have the same problem with my 740?

My Volvo is a 2.ol GL Manual 1988 estate.

cheers

I came across this when looking for alloys for my Toyota people carrier.
It tells you PCD, Centre Bore and offset etc. If your getting used alloys remember the 740/940 are heavy cars so watch the weight loading!

I didn't think about weight either until I started looking for a set for my Toyota lucida. Its around 2 tonne empty so I doubt a set from a MR2 sportscar would be up to it. As far as offset goes I'm not sure. I think if its within the range its ok. Someone on here will know for sure and perhaps whats a good fit to look out for. PCD and centre bore are critical!!
Heres another couple of sites. You can search by PCD etc.

Remember to preserve the rolling radius of wheels and tyres you may have to fit lower profile otherwise the speedo will be out.

http://www.willtheyfit.com
http://www.carlsalter.com

these two sites will tell you what will fit, what won't, how much spacers you will need, centre bore etc.

you can easily get centre bore adaptors from ebay or other places as long as the wheel has a larger centre bore than the hub.

measure the gap between your tyre/alloy to the strut and on the outside to the arch then you will have a better idea what wheels you can use. 8j front and 10j back are the limit I think to width you can fit. well il soon find out if they do or not!
