Default Fuel injector leak ? (S40 2.0)

Good evening,

I lifted the bonnet tonight just to have a look and I noticed a shallow pool around the leftmost injectors which I assume is fuel!?

It seems to be mainly coming from the far left injector. I will include some photos and a YouTube video I found detailing how to change the o-ring seals in the injector. Just wondering if anyone else has had this or might be able to advise if it could indeed be the o-ring seals? Been to the garage a few times in the past few weeks to sort minor issues with the car and a bit reluctant to go back right now, for a couple of reasons.

Sorry the photos don't really show the pool of liquid/fuel as it is seen with the naked eye. For some reason I couldn't get it to show up in the photos (any input gratefully received!):

Did you check that its not leaking fuel return hose ?
Had issue on mine v50, engine top flooded due to leak off (return) pipe leaking at point where its connected to plastic connector. Was leaking when driving ( under load), no problem when idling.

I think that may be it!

That's what the YouTube video seems to be about...

Sorry I was trying to embed it but couldn't figure it out and I think the site kept blocking my IP for a time every time I tried so gave up!

What was the fix if you don't mind me asking!!?

Yes it doesn't seem to be leaking at idle whilst I am watching it!!

Also... I meant to mention there does seem to be a 'ticking' from the left most injector... but maybe this is normal.

In my case solution was to replace piece of return flow hose as old one disintegrated over time and wasn't holding pressure. If you decide to replace it (as potential cure to the problem) don't buy cheap stuff on e-bay, advertised as 3.2 mm I.d. and 7 mm o.d. I bought it and it failed due to not been able to resist high fuel temperature. I would advise to buy proper fuel hose (with DIN/CE marking) at 3.2 mm I.d. and 9-10 mm o.d.
If you too fussy about it you can also buy matching overbraid nylon sleeving which goes over hose.
Injector suppose to be ticking as it opens and closes when current applied to it..

Thanks I'll take a look around! If you remember where you bought it just let me know. Cheers.
