Default S40 - Powershift Problems

Hello all,

I have a 2009 S40 Powershift auto. I had the gearbox repaired a year and half ago and have had it serviced every 10k miles since as i know these gearboxes are problematic. It has been fine but now it has got cold in the mornings it is now not playing ball. I have to drive it very slow and wait until it warms up before it works properly otherwise it will say the dreaded 'Transmission Performance Low'. If it does this i switch it off then back on and it will not come back up but some gear changes can be clunky.

Any ideas of what might be causing this and advice would be amazing.

'Transmission Performance Low' can mean different things.
I don't know who fixed your gearbox, but if it was not a Volvo dealer, what you should do is:
take your car to a Volvo service and have them read the error codes and have them update the transmission software

You might also want to try to clean the transmission fluid temperature sensor connector.
