Default Waxoyl - was that a bad idea?

Volvo 940 auto with ACC.

I noticed the leaf grill think had fallen down. So I tool of the wipers and the bit of body in front of the windscreen. Refixed the leaf grill.

I'm a bit of an anti corrosion fanatic. So while I had it off I thought - "lets get some waxoyl on here while it's open". After all, that area will get some rain and run off from the screen.

So got my trusty can of Waxoyl and sprayed around the wiper linkages and all over that part of the body.

Now I've just wondered, that's where air for the heater/air con is drawn in isn't it? Was that a bad thing to do? Or just a bit OTT? Is Waxoyl and it's solvent going to get drawn through the heater and clog everything up?

how much did you spray? chances are it will dry out into a tacky substance on the air vent/ac intake long before it gets into the workings inside, your ac evaporator is mounted under/behind the glovebox.

The air intake will be shielded against water to some extent so unless you have sprayed the waxoil into it it should be OK. Fumes might be a problem fo a while though.
I once did the whole underside of a car I had including the exhaust. It smelt for a while but eventually dried off !
