OC/Essex & Suffolk June 2011

Just a reminder that due to the BKV on the 12th, the OC meet will be held a week early on the 5th.June

Thanks Mollusk, hope to be along though we may be pulling out of the BKV National now due to venue change - not really a matter of the extra distance, but more the location - it's not really near anywhere we would like to visit and justify the costs, we would want to make a long weekend of it - Yorkshire Moors, Peak District etc all good, but not Birmingham I'm afraid

The OC Meets are held at the Orwell Crossing Services.

A14 towards Felixstowe, cross bridge (over the Orwell River in Ipswich), continue for about 2 mls, left hand side a truck stop. There's where the meets are held.

So im guessing Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex/Cambs all tend to meet as one group?

Correct.

The Essex & Suffolk section started a good few years ago, meeting in Colchester,. Declining numbers then forced a rethink and some three years ago we moved our meeting to the Orwell Crossing Truck Stop where we joined forces with an existing group of Volvo/car enthusiasts who already met there.

The section has gone from strength to strength with regulars from not only Essex and Suffolk but Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Kent. We have also had repeat visits from Birmingham (S60, 340 and C70)

We have an annual "open day" at Lookers of Colchester in May and attend the Bishops Stortford Motor Show in September.

We normally meet on the Second Sunday of the month from 10.00 till bored and always take advantage of the Truck Stops superb restaurant for Sunday lunch.

Due to the VOC BKV our meeting in June will be on the 5th.

If you can make it you will be very welcome - Mollusk

I get paid that week, so I shall stick some fuel in the S40 and pop down

I shall say.. I can't be missed.. not with my hair style! Haha!

Sorry everyone but I won't be able to make this meet.

I have aquired some tickets to Pleasurewood hills and I will be taking my boys there for the day.
This is the only time I can take them.

I hope you have a good meet and a good meal. I'll see you all at the BKV next week.

Throughly enjoyed trying to be in two places at once today and attending the meet twice :-) Aggy, i told you we wouldn't be late :-) As always, great food and great company!!!
