1998 S80 SE Auto 83k FSH
This car is in very good condition, has full service history and drives faultlessly.
Was a Volvo directors car then owned by two same family owners. Has the usual SE extras, full heated leather and electric everything! Only thing it needs is a air-con service. Comes with nearly a full years MOT and 4 months tax. Anyone viewing will not be disappointed. £1000 ono Steve 07585594586 |

It's a 2.9, be very wary cos they are renowned for the gearbox and it's just shy of 2 grand to have it rebuilt. I'm aware of this cos I had one a few years ago and the gearbox failed I ended up selling the car for peanuts cos I couldn't find any cars breaking that didn't have a gearbox problem

Thanks for that!
Just the help I need to sell a car... To clarify, the car drives faultlessly and has no signs of having any gearbox issues at all. Granted, it is a known issue with these cars but for the tens of thousands Volvo sold I'm certain not all of them go wrong! At the end of the day, you wouldnt post a message saying your gearbox was great, would you? If I didnt have to travel 80 miles a day for work I would keep it and be quite comfortable in the process. Its a 2.9 by the way... |

I'd have been grateful if somebody had have told me before I bought mine cos it failed after I'd done 2000 miles in the car.
Not trying to put people off buying it just simply stating there is a known issue with gearbox in this car

Perhaps I have read it wrong, but someone picks up unwanted cast offs from dealers, clean up, and try and flog on for double its value to a 'specialist' market, then when people point out the reason you never see them on the road is cos chances are car has been little used, as soon as usage pattern changes box is likely to die within 6 months. amazing how many cars OP has got through, either they are a wanna be dealer, or buy something realise it has problems and try and off load it. Gotta love a bit of Google I know the taxman does |
