>comming on when i press this?? Don't think so in the 850's. What car have you got? >day running lights, how can i turn them off? Some can be turned of by a little screw on the light switch, again, presuming we're talking about 850's... >am off to france soon, have got warning triangle, spare bulbs, >headlight beam stickers, is there anything else i might need, >apart frm a first aid kit?? You need two warning triangles by law now in France. >also, do i need to be checking anything before running for >large distances at high speeds (all levels are ok) Presuming you're sticking to France, the highest speeds you can achieve legally are 80mph or just under. They have so many radar traps along there now it's probably not worth driving to fast. I know. I got caught doing 130+ :)

RE: couple more questions
>2 warning triangles??? how come I've never had to use them, but I believe one has to go a small distance behind the car, and the other has to go a much further distance. I wouldn't get caught out now, though - the police do random stop checks at the ports. Most car shops will sell a pack of two warning triangles now to make it easier for people to comply with the new legislation.

No, one goes in front of the car and one behind. In Spain and Italy, you must also always have reflective cloathing when walking on the motorway say to an emergency phone.

RE: couple more questions
You should not have to do anything with it unless the thing fails.
It's there to stop you moving the gear lever out of park unless you apply the foot brake. |

RE: couple more questions
Hi
my understanding is that the "shift lock overide" button is used when you want to shift the gear from say "P" into "N" whilst the car is off and stationery. If you turn the igintion to the 1st or 2nd setting (I can't remember which) and the push in and hold the "shift lock" button down you should be able to move the gear selector from "P" to "N" or another position. I have done this many times when just needing to push the car on the driveway a short distance. regards,
