Just a MY12 Volvo on call required. The VOC unit has its own independent phone system. I have the MY11.5 on call system so I'm wondering if its updatable.

Judging by the current inability to get updates for older models I wouldn't hold out too much hope

There are several software updates that Volvo wont retrospectively apply to older models - the only one they did was for the Gearbox S mode that they 'forgot' on some early MY11 models - but they wont apply it beyond that point

Given the general trend of technology this was bound to happen sooner rather than later. I wonder what the risks of hacking are? Presumably the app needs some sort of password. The password could be discovered. Your smartphone could be subject to unauthorised access. etc etc.

If anyone wants to look at the app you can download it for free and it has a demo mode. It's got superficial novelty value, but the trip log looks like it would be good.

Looks good, if not exactly massively useful, deffo disappointed if as an MY11.5 owner I will have no access to this functionality, if just for seeing when the wife will get home!

I may see if I can set it up anyway, you never know

they may have accidentally installed the OnCall 'telematics' system onto my car hahahah (highly doubtfull face)

I do wonder if this can be added to earlier vehicles, I may ask when I have iit serviced

Booo, as expected, no dice with logging in with a MY11.5 . Expected but disapointed. I have emailed Volvo to see if they have any plans to make any of the functionality available, you'd imagine at least the location tracker and locking facility (or a simpler version of) could be worked out, as these are all functions of the old OC service
