Parasitic drain test
I posted earlier (flat battery issue) and I am now back home to start investigating.
Car is charging at 14.9V when idling. Battery voltage one hour after stopping the car is settled at 12.4V Can I check with you the correct procedure for a battery drain test as I don't want to follow a youtube procedure if it's wrong for my car (17yr manufacture XC60 D5 auto ) Do I need to lock the car? Battery - ive cable disconnected and multimeter (reading amps) between battery negative post and cable. How long do I wait to allow the car to go to sleep? If I progress to checking parasitic drain tests across fuses how do I check the passenger and boot fuse boxes if the car needs to be locked? ie, door opened Thanks |

Given how difficult the various fuse boxes are to get at to pull fuses it will not be easy.
