Default Atreus Alloys on V50

Hi all, hope everyones christmas and new years celebrations went well.

Recently had 3 of my alloys written of by a particularly viscious pot hole on the north circular!

So it's bye bye Medusa's and I'm looking for a set of alloys to run while I persue a claim for a new set.

Found some very nice low miles Atreus C30 spec locally and wondering if anyone has any experience of running theese on a V50?

All opinions gratefully received.

Jez

Jez,

If you're on 18's try 17's or 16's, you won't go back to 18's! the ride is much better (As are the driving dynamics)

Yeah that's what I'd heard.

When I've got the luxury of time I'll look for some nice 17's, maybe the R design type but for now needs must!

Check the offset is ok for the V50. Volvo were asking about £1400 when I enquired but if its an insurance job then go for it.

they are an ok, rim but they suffer really badly from corrosion which eats the face on them needing a full refurbish to cure. There are numerous complaints on the C30 forums about them. I personally am not a fan of the design, if you want big sime you can also look at wheels from mondeos and focus's too they have the same off set, and can take the volvo centre caps if you want to be different lol. i've been toying with the idea of getting some mondeo st rims, for my c30, as they come of pretty cheaply as they suffere even worse form the problems the atreus wheels have lol, so all need refurbed. but as monkey says the 17's have a better ride quality and many say they drive alot better on them, ive got 17's so can comment on how that, but i know the focus's are terrible on 18s comepared to the 16s or 17's, they just dont handle as sweetly, prone to understeer more readily. probably due to the lack of flex in the sidewall with the profile being soo low. also 18's a more vulnerable to pot hole damage as you know.

Wink

Was only buying them because they appeared cheap on sleaze-bay.

Just been delivered tonight. Guy drove from Lincolnshire to drop them off.

All 4 look nearly new and cost me £480 all in including delivery.

Pic attached. All still boxed!
