Arrow The Moselle in Germany - anyone toured there?

We have had recommendations for touring with the caravan in the Moselle area in Germany.

Anyone toured there?

Thinking for the possibility for some time in 2017.

Colin

We have visited the area a few times, usually 2 or 3 day breaks when heading further south; but we also spent a holiday touring around the Germany / Luxembourg border.
It is a very beautiful area with pretty villages strung out along the river valley.
We stayed near the small town of Remich on the Luxembourg side of the river and visited the area known as petit Suisse which is where the river runs through a limestone gorge with thickly forested sides. It is part of a large national park that spans the border into Germany.
Slightly further North East is Trier which is a must visit; it has some of the best Roman remains in Germany, particularly the Porta Negra which is one of the original gates to the city, still standing to 4 storeys high and nearly 2000 years old. The cathedral is also very impressive. It is a busy place, but we found that it was very easy and cheap to get a water taxi from right next to our campsite into the city centre.
It is all typically German: spotlessly clean, some of the best food in the world, good wine and, surprisingly, not too expensive.
It's a few years since we were there, so a return visit is well overdue.
