850 T5 CD 96/P auto estate - Value/offers?
Hi guys,
I've had my 850 for a few years now and it's time to move her on. I no longer have the time to keep on top of the maintenance etc (being a father is more time-consuming than I thought) and so have decided to go electric. The car is an 850 T5 CD auto estate on a 96/P plate. Average condition for the age with little scratches etc and only a little bubbling on one of the rear arches. It's had the RICA remap and has the bigger V70 brakes on the front and the 16" perfos all round. Otherwise it's standard. I've spent about £6k over the last few years replacing all the perishing hoses etc along with a new steering rack, work on the rear brakes etc. Mileage is 185k and has been since I bought it. The ODO has stopped counting as is usual at that mileage. The engine is strong and pulls well and doesn't smoke though it smells like it's running a little rich when first started and there's an oil leak somewhere. Just recently, the front brakes are binding and I can't afford to go and get it fixed just to have it sitting on the drive. So, I'm selling it but I have no idea of the value tbh. Suggestions? and obviously open to offers, even cheeky ones. The car is in Aberdeen. Thanks in advance all, Craig |

I didn't have any recent ones so I popped out to grab some quick ones before it got dark earlier.
Let me know if you have any problems viewing the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...VE?usp=sharing Cheers, Craig |

I'd love to have a play with that.
I've wanted a T5 for ages, I've got as far as a 2.5T But it's in Aberdeen and I'm in Essex, so I don't think it will happen. Wish it was closer. |

Not sure what the cost of transporting cars is these days but I suspect it would be more than she's worth... :-(

I know what you mean.
I was fully intending to completely strip and rebuild her but being a dad seems to consume a lot of my time... Have a look into the costs though. I'd rather that she went to a good home and get an extra lease of life than went to the knackers yard. She's MOT'd til next year and a little work on the front brakes and a quick jump-start and she'd be running like a champ... I'd be OK with taking a bit less for her to offset the costs of the transport, I just really need it shifted soon. |

How much oil is it losing?
I'm only a couple of hours away, so transport would be less of an issue. Does it drive at all with the brakes the way they are?

It's not losing a huge amount, it's quite hard to gauge.
I think I bought one of those 4ltr tubs over two years ago and have only just run out. It does drive with the brakes the way they are but they get hot pretty quickly. Certainly able to drive enough to get an idea of whether everything is working but wouldn't advise a two hour trip... I got some spares ready to put on but didn't have the time or money to get them swapped... |
