Replacement seat belt socket
Hi, I need to replace the seat belt stalk/socket on the front driver's side seat, as the seat belt no longer retracts when you press the orange release button.
Does anyone know if there is a n/s or o/s difference? I have seen a few on ebay but they just say they came from a front seat. Thank you for your help

Maybe the mechanism is just gummed up.
Have you tried a couple of free squirts of grease/lubricant in there?

Hi Cheshire, No, I have not tried that. Maybe I should get some WD40 spray tomorrow, would that work?
I did read fluff could accumulate over time, so was wondering if I could take it apart. Then I saw a few for £10 on ebay - they look simple to replace. Anyone know if there is a difference between the passenger and driver stalk?

Mine is getting a bit lazy as I have sometimes give it a flick with my finger whilst pressing the button so I'll practice what I preach and give it a go myself.
No idea if there are differences between the sides but part numbers don't lie if you can see them. Same part number, same part.
