Apparently so, the Volvo engine is capable of running on bio but is recomended no more than 30% to start off, then slowly increase the dosage of bio, sometimes with a fuel filter change after a few hundred miles, while in winter it's advised to mix bio with normal fuel just to help, however this is more so on the diesel engine's whereas your's is petrol. I can only assume it will run. To be fair most fuel's nowday's are running at least 5%, im sure diesel's 5% if not 10% now.

It already will be to some extent. An EU law passed about a year ago means that fuel sold on 'the forecourt' must contain a minimum of 2% biofuel. This applies to both petrol and diesel. They were going to increase the percentage in stages but the environmentalists found out that large areas of rainforest were being destroyed to make way for Palm plantations for the oil, and people were going hungry because land normal used for food production was being used for biofuel crops instead.

you say bio fuel do you mean E85 petrol ?
If so then NO! under no circumstances , its corrosive to the fuel pump / lines / injectors and you need 40% more by volume to do the same job as petrol .. E85 cars have a lot of modifications to allow it's use ..

similar for bio diesel too , lots of the mixes are 30% or more and volvo only permit a 5% mix .
