Default Self opening boot and windows

On holiday at moment and have experienced worrying events. Parked in supermarket car park and went in. Ten minutes later came out to find boot fully open with all possessions including expensive camera on view to all. Luckily nothing missing.checked all shut and locked prior to leaving.key was in my trouser pocket as usual and sure nothing was pressed ..Two days later went out to car (in private house driveway) and all windows fully open but all doors locked. Again all fully secured at night and key in house (in Fariday pouch)..Seem to think I’ve seen something similar on forum some time ago but couldn’t find anything..
Anyone offer any thoughts would be appreciated.

This has happened to me a few times.

You might not agree, but it is almost certainly accidental pressing in your pocket. It is very easy to do.

I have even proved as much with camera footage. Went to car in the morning and the boot was fully up. Checked CCTV. Boot went up at the point I was crouching down to do up my laces on the mat in the house.

I can understand your reasoning with regard to boot opening but I wouldn’t have thought the signal would carry the distance I would have been away from car whilst in supermarket.
The fact then two days later all windows open seemed a bit worrying.

Pressing and holding the unlock button (accidentally or intentionally) results in all windows opening so the key pressing on something in your pocket long enough for this to occur is the most likely explanation.

Doing it intentionally when returning to the car on a hot day is quite useful as it gets the hot air out nice and quickly however, it happening accidently is not a good thing, especially if it happens to be raining at the time.

Three times in the past couple of months, the boot has opened apparently by itself. I put it down to the keys in my pocket and my ample backside causing some unwanted button pressing! Luckily, the app has 'bonged' and told me the boot was open, so I could go check it and close it.

Funnily enough, only this morning, my mate at work sat down and the boot of his BMW iX3 opened as he sat. It's not just Volvo! Actually, it happened to me with my EQC which I have before the V60 too.

I didn’t get any warning on my app in either of the instances. I usually get warning if unlocked ie when washing it.

I used to find that the app would warn me after 30 mins of the car being open. Depending on signal quality of course.

By the way, pressing and holding the boot button when the boot is already open closes the boot. I only discovered that recently even though I have had the car for 8 years.
