Default Twin Cable Linkage: 2 x DCOE carbs

Heya

Has anyone installed dual cable throttle linkage for a pair of carbs in their Amazon / P1800?

Intrigued on the accelerator pedal cable-block aspect, as my Amazon is of the push-rod accelerator variety.

i.e it actuates the linkage-rod at firewall bracket engine side, vertically & upward.

So routing of the twin cable set up like this one;
https://www.webcon.co.uk/products/15...cable-linkage/

...makes interesting food for thought, as I continue to look into next steps.

Any thoughts, advice, or insight on how best to the 2 x cable set up right ..without necessitating an accelerator pedal change, would be super!

Cheers

Attaching some screens shots of a Amazon 122S (LHD), with the aim of helping to unlock the best approach

(1) Twin cable throttle linkage - going straight into right hand bulkhead/firewall

(2) Accelerator pedal - with cable block and some other things going on
(not super clear, apologies)

My Amazon is also a LHD and I'm keen on the twin cable option; so the attached feels promising!

...subject to figuring out the rigging at the accelerator

Sorry for delayed update here; hectic year and now with a break, finally!

Here’s how I routed the twin cable linkage.

Used:
Webcon Twin Cable linkage kit (LP2000)
https://www.webcon.co.uk/products/10...set-top-mount/

DO NOT USE : LP2500 linkage kit, unless figment to a RHD vehicle.
Throttle Cable routing becomes overly long loop up and across the front third of the rocker cover.

With:
GRP Fabrications
MODEL:GRP3350 split Accelerator cable block
https://www.grp4fabrications.com/acc...or-cable-block

Throttle response & accelerator pedal travel: all super!

(1) Twin throttle cable linkage done
(2) Accelerator cable block installed
(3) with Malpassi Filter King installed & set to 3psi

Why install twin cables if it’s only acting on one carb linkage? I’m curious to the benefit

Hey there

Twin cable is indeed acting on both carbs.

The twin cable means twin return springs & provides a shared load with a twin-pull & return system; instead of single.

Also twin cable provides added security;
- if one breaks (it happens!); you’re not stuck
- two braking at same time/same journey is highly improbable
- always safer to run twin cables & twin return springs

Go with twin cables, a better move all round then single ever is.

Cheers

Cheers Cam!!

Appreciate the generous knod.

It’s my daily driver, but I do try to treat her well.
(Also easier/quicker to spot potential issues that way)

MERRY CHRISTMAS (for tomorrow) ALL!

Best wishes all round
