Default Erratic Revs 4-5-6 :(

Well it seems it was not an instance of wheel spin before the poor 2.0D keeps doing it when you give it the beans being smooth it no problems no erratic nature.

It only occurs in 4-5-6, the revs jump from about 1800/1900 to 2100/2200rpm...

no problem with power delivery still pulls like a train it is just i see the revs go up and back down erratically.

Any ideas? I will pop her down to the dealer tomorrow (still have a warranty (extended)) on her though thank f***.

Clutch?

Do the 3rd gear test. Stick it in third gear and hand brake on, lift clutch pedal up if it doesn't stall, might be the clutch going.

guaranteed to be clutch unfortunatly mate,

had the same issue after i remapped mine.
Basically the original clutches they used are shi*.

replace with LUK or apparently the one from the 155bhp mondeo is a direct replacement and handles much more power, is much harder wearing and is just betterererererr

+1 for this advice Ben is giving.

I was going to say the same thing. I'd pretty much say 99.99% its the clutch and I went for the LuK replacements and then later found out about the 2.2 diesel clutch from the Mondeo.
