Default V70 fog lights

I have a current model V70 (2008).

The fog lights have not been wired up to the tow bar socket (twin sockets). Garage servicing car say this would now be a major job, but they are not tow bar specialists. Has anyone else had this problem? was it costly to fix ?

I assume this is not wired using the volvo plug and play this being the case it will be wired using a bypass relay therefore all that is required is to pick up the feed from the fog lamp take to the relay and run a wire from the relay to the 7pin road socket. The cable should be there at the socket and if memory serves me correctly it is the blue wire please check this before connecting. If you need any further help please ley me know and i will photograph my installation which was done with the help of Volvo technical Manager for Scotland.

i would suspect that if you have the volvo plug and play the fog light is not always connected with the wire from the multiplug in the boot. the wiring from the REM to the multi should be complete and they have numbers on from 1 to 13 wire no 2 is for the fog lights see if that is going into the plug and out to the 7 pin in your case.there is no need to bridge in to the fog light cable if the other option has not been used
