Default 2004 V70 Rear 12V outlet

Trying to get power from mine and after checking fuses etc discovered that there were no wires attached to the socket. Car is a 2004 D5 SE model.
Should the wiring be there or was the socket an option and only connected in those instances.
Thanks for any info

Not sure about the option, but if it there and was an option, it should be wired.
Can I assume you've checked they've not fallen?
On my boot socket, it is permanently wired, as is the norm, so you could just run a a couple of suitable wires from the battery with an inline fuse close to the battery, you could even add an inline switch, many options available

As Marmitespreader suggests, the wires are probably somewhere behind the panel. You may be able to see it by removing the small panel at the rear corner (the one that comes away to get the the rear lights). If not, the whole rear side panel is easy to remove. Fold the rear seat forward, in the recess where the luggage cover fits there is a bolt, it may have a plastic cover over it. Remove the bolt and the panel is held by clips at the top, these pull away.
I wonder if someone has taken the panel off in the past and forgotten to re-connect the power socket?

Had a look behind the big panel this afternoon and could not see any wires. May well make something up from the battery as suggested. Have a better look later in the week.
Thanks for the replies
