Default Steering force

I’m confused by the steering force options on Individual drive settings- does ‘low’ mean little assistance (ie steering heavier) or does it mean the steering is at its lightest? Must say I cannot feel much if any difference between the settings.

The manual seems quite vague on the steering force settings. I think the different settings apply to how much force the driver has to apply rather than how much assistance the gimmickry applies. Low = not much force, most assistance, High = most force, least assistance. From personal experience I have the high setting selected in Individual mode, and switching between the different drive modes there is a difference although it is very subtle, the steering feels 'heavier.' It's all artificial though and not the same as driving a well sorted car without any assistance, well apart from manoeuvring, were you need arms like Popeye.

The settings make the steering wheel feel lighter or heavier.

Mine is set at normal. Have tried low and it felt a bit too light.

Hi
Once the required setting is selected you need to use the mode select wheel to select Individual setting.

Do you not find that more effort to move the wheel?

I haven't tried it to be fair, but might test it out.

It's a very subtle difference. If you are used to the normal setting, and someone changed it to high without your knowledge I would hazard a guess and say you would never know.

One thing to consider when changing steering effort, is that it may not be apparent at parking speeds. The different map only coming into action when the speed sensor registers above manoeuvring speed.
