Default Difference between Min - Max on dip stick

Just looking to find out what is the true amount of oil between minimum and maximum on the dip stick for the 1.8 petrol. I was always under the assumption that it was 1 liter but I seen a post on here were somebody said it was 0.5 liter.

Car seems to have went from max to min in just over 1000 miles so just looking for an idea of how much oil that is.
