Possible mods??
My wifes got a 440 1.8Si auto which we've had for 6 years and belonged to her late mother from new so she's very attached to it and wont let me change it for a T5 so I'm thinking of doing some mods.
So my questions are, the CVT gearbox was rebuilt 2 years ago at great expense and is running well but what sort of power will it take? I'm not thinking turbo but maybe a 2.0?. If I have to stick with the 1.8 single point injection engine what can be done with that?. Thanks in advance, I've seen the pic's in the gallery of Daniel M's silver 440 and the 15'' wheels I put on when we got the car don't do it any more! but I did think 17''s would be too big! not anymore. had several cars which ive modded now have a 440 2.0i gotta performance exhaust which is a must if u want it to turn heads, a cd player if you havent already got one. yeah 17s look great especially with the car lowered, check out www.potn.com for good modding stuff, the main is lowered with 17s and exhaust, a full system can add up to 10 bhp then u can put induction kit on a few more maybe get it chipped?? theres loads of stuff possible just finding the right ones for you, but with volvos dont go over the top or looks crap. go suble and stylish. good luck mate!

440 mods
i agree with andrew, subtle mods are the way forward for the 440. 17" wheels will go on no bother as long as you get the right offset, lowering the car by 40mm is an easy job cheap too at only £60+ for springs, tuning wise i'd go for a decat with a nice backbox to suit your own flavour, you can also get an alloy intake pipe with an induction kit or just a replacement K & N panel filter either or will unlock a few more ponies, on a different note if you want loadsa ponies you can get a nos kit for a single point injection for arround £350, happy motoring m8y.
