Default New (to me) 2003 V70 Limiting revs

Hi all,

First time posting so please indulge my Volvo ignorances! So picked up a 2003 v70 recently, 135k on the clock, super clean, loads of paperwork, yadda yadda . . . Anyway it does a weird thing sometimes that seems to happen when i accelerate hard in 3rd/4th. The revs will suddenly drop to around 2500 and no matter what gear im in wont go above this. If i restart the engine everything returns to normal and the car will drive as normal, somtimes for the rest of the journey. I Havn't eliminated all the variables yet and it doesn't seem to be a limp mode as i am not getting any warning light!? Anybody experienced anything similar to this?

Thanks!

Ben

welcome! and get the codes read, it's the only way to know really sorry for the non-committal response . anyone diagnosing that without more info is just guessing

what is it? petrol (turbo, non turbo) / diesel / auto or manual..

if you're planning to keep it a while try and find a VCX nano or or Dice unit, and get VIDA, windows 10 version torrents and instructions here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e...i3cpHBdsZa/pub

that's the proper kit required to get the correct and full diagnostic information as well as part numbers, diagrams, fitting instructions
