Crashy ride - 2005 V70
Had this car for a good few months now and I do really like it but it is quite violent over bumps in the road.
I am a tad clueless when it comes to mechanics so wondering what it could be. Just had a new MOT so assuming nothing dangerous. The car had new shocks from the previous owner in 2021. Would it just be that suspension components are now worn and have no resistance in them? Which would be fair enough as it has done nearly 160k miles. How much does new suspension cost at an independent, does anyone know? |

discussed recently here https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=337174
my personal opinion is unchanged since then.. others may still disagree I just go a bit slower over the bumps and avoid pot holes, and tell myself its not a nimble little hatchback what size wheels has it got on it? has it got any poly bushes or anything else non-standard Last edited by stuart bowes; Jan 24th, 2024 at 11:01. |

Mine does the same I know it needs new exhaust hangers on the back as one has actually broke off
I put new shockers and springs all round last year and the car lifted up at least 2 inches before that the front lower “fairing” used to hit any sleeping policeman/speed bump |
