Default Does your drivers seat creak

On my last v70 the passenger seat creaked. What a pleasant relief it was when I bought the current car and the seats didn't creak. But now, after 3 years and at 89000, the drivers seat has started creaking, most noticeably when negotiating roundabouts. Is this a common feature? And before any lard related comments, I am about 12 stone drowned.

Mine creaks. My mate's 2004 S60 has a drivers seat with exactly the same creak. His has done twice the mileage as mine, same creaks though.

Both front seats on mine creak badly it has done 261000 miles so I can understand why. Has anyone found a fix for this? or identified the cause.

My seat does exhibit a creak of sorts when negotiating certain surfaces. Mostly those that require the action of the dampers, she's fine otherwise. Best car seats I've encountered.

My last S60 did this and I used a bit of WD40 with small hose attached to spray onto the hinge joint that allows the position of the back of the seat to be adjusted. Sorted mine.

YES

Both my sprinter & V70 creak .
Cure spray white grease on any pivot points as well as any spring ends you can see as the metal grates on frame .

Also rub grease along both seat runners and run the seats back & forwards several times to work grease in , sometimes takes a while but does work .

It is also an idea to get a weighty friend in the seat & get them moving while you listen for location of noise ,as you very rarely find it on your own . BL cars were awful for creaking , but above method soon resolved the problem . Use spray grease as it clings & does not dry out , WD & similar act swiftly but only for short period of time

Check first that it's not just the seat belt socket rubbing against the seat, just push it slightly forward when you here the creaking. I had a creak from the seat and this is all it was.
