Default D5 3rd year service - What needs done ?

Hi,

Looking at an early 09 R-Design auto 40k miles

It will be serviced as part of the sale, wondering what is done at this service ?

(Also info on the next one as well if anybody has a link)

P.S I tried googling the complete list year on year but couldn't really find anything

Cheers.

Hi CO2000,

Glad you liked the service sheet I posted up for everyone !

Presumably you're buying from a Volvo dealer, in which case - if they are servicing it,
they should provide you with a copy of that sheet, with the relevant boxes ticked..

Welcome to the club :-)

Interesting.

I have a 3 year £300 service plan purchased with a new October 2011 car. If the 2011 service sheet is different to the 2010 example posted I would be interested to see it as I have not yet had a service.

Does the 3 year service deal include the cost of the automatic transmission fluid change at 2 years which only happens IF I tow (which I do)?

Does changing the fluid involve only the fluid in the pan or all the fluid in the system?

I cannot see why the service plan wouldn't cover the fluid change except that it isn't cheap fluid & some of us would get more value from the service deal than others!

ChrisE,

The Volvo dealer you purchased the Service Plan from should be able to answer the question,
but looking at the T's & C's on Volvo's web site, I doubt the Auto Transmission Oil change will be covered.

It does state:
Quote:
The service offer includes parts and labour for all scheduled services.
However I think they will interpret that as all "basic" services, not the additional services needed because you tow.

The next lines of the T's & C's states :

Quote:
Parts included in the offer are: oil filter, engine oil, diesel, fuel filter, diesel particulate filter, pollen filter, brake fluid, air filter, spark plugs and washer fluid.
Owners are responsible for topping up the various fluids and coolant in between services.
Brake fluid will be replaced at the end of the 2nd year of ownership.
Wear and tear items such as brake pads, discs, bulbs, wiper blades and tyres are not included.
No mention of auto transmission oil !
