Hi
there are lots of threads here about the diesel VEA engines and EGR woes. It's put me off moving to a diesel VEA engine as i just don't need the hassle and our XC60 does short local trips most of the time so we are better matched to a petrol engine anyway. What about the petrol VEA engines? Do these have an EGR and if so, is it also problematical? Are there enough petrol engined XC60s in the UK to give me an answer or should I be asking this question to a US Volvo forum ? I keep mulling over upgrading and have seen a few petrol VEA engined XC60 (Mk1) and even some with AWD. A recent one I saw advertised was a 2017 Mk 1 XC60 AWD with petrol VEA engine, if hadn't been on the wrong island I probably would have taken it for a test drive.
