Black inner headlights
Hi I've got the headlight units that have the silver inners I'm thinking about changing them to black ones.
Anyone else swapped them over? |

I wonder if it is possible to dismantle them and paint them? I have done this previously (many years ago) on a Land Rover Freelander and a MGF to good effect.

I read somewhere that they changed from black to silver in an attempt to make dim headlights better.

is that the silver/chrome bit around the bulbs as there is a silver/greyish plastic bit infront of that. Rather than black mine, I just removed that front part.
can definitely dismantle them if you want, lens comes of quite easily from the unit. there are quite a few plastic pieces which I have just removed to show more of the black unit interior but I havent sprayed anything. |

I have tried to take the unit apart to clean the projector lense but my car seems to have extra bits in the way it's get the electric leveling so I'm unable to get at one of the torx bolts that holda the projector lense in...
