S90 R-Design seats.
Hi guys,
Had my S90 for a couple of months now and am loving the car in most respects, getting used to the quirks, slightly iffy auto wiper/parking sensor behaviour, fixed the base stereo to sound good etc... But one thing I'm struggling with a bit is the seating position/comfort - I know Volvo's are supposed to have the best seats around but I find I'm still fiddling a couple of months in. Initially I found it quite hard to get in and out without feeling I'm rubbing the bolsters & steering wheel (I'm not tall - 5'7") and with various re-positions that's gradually gone away but for some reason I can't quite get fully comfortable, often feel a bit cramped in (I imagine it's actually better for taller drivers who can make better use of the extending cushion). Does anyone else experience this or is it just me? I only ever hear good things in reviews but passengers have said similar about their seat, it's a bit like a high-end sports-car to get in and out of and firm to sit in - except it's massive and not very sporty. |

We tried the sport seats and found the comfort seats much better, the side bolsters are less high.

I got standard seats in my XC90 and those are the best I had in a while. No backaches in 6h+ drives whatsoever. But everybody is different. What works for me, not necessarily will work for you.
As to the "getting into". I think it helps a lot if you do not have to sit down into a car but have the seat nearer to your standing high. (I am about 6'1) The S/V90 have a very low seating position.
