V70 T5 300bhp BSR PPC Tuned - LPG Converted
2001 Geartronic - 5 speed auto with manual mode
300bhp BSR PPC remap running on LPG at 68p a litre! Superb performance yet cheaper to run than a D5! 112,000 miles Full Stamped Service History Tax till end November 2011 MOT to December 2011 Full Black Leather Winter Pack Electric Memory Drivers Seat Electric folding mirrors Heated seats Eibach Springs, Koni Adjustable Shocks, aftermarket HID's Recent new front tyres, recent refurbed wheels. Goodyear Eagle F1's and Uniroyal Rainsports Had an alternator in 2010 and a replacement ETM and software upgrade as well Injectors were Jimathan cleaned last year. Previous previous owners had the wishbones replaced too as well as the driver's door check strap that commonly fails. Wants for nothing! LPG converted by myself (fully trained) using KME equipment with an 85l tank in wheel well so no loss of boot space and excellent range. One ding in the passenger door is the only major one (visible in first photo below, near the door handle), there is some scuffing to the corners on the bumpers too. The rest is very straight. Interior is as new, leather is in excellent condition. One of the door microswitches isn't working properly so the alarm is showing a fault code. Still locks / unlocks fine so I haven't bothered to fix this. And that's it! EVERYTHING works otherwise, and EVERYTHING that might need money spent on it has had it. This one should run and run. Will be sad to see her go but due to a new business venture (LPG Conversions) I have now bought a very rare Alpina Touring to use as my demo vehicle. Private plate not included. Price is £3300 given history / extensive recent maintenance / mods / LPG conversion etc. Car is in Barry, South Wales and viewing welcomed! I think that's the point, extras help sell the car but don't change the price much. A car of this age is unlikely to be bought by someone doing a huge mileage and therefore won't want to pay more for the LPG. A standard T5 of this age is likely to be around £1500.

i Agree to a point but if you want to spend only £1500 then you will only get a basket case, we couldn't find one anywhere that sort of money when we were looking that had a good history and condition..... |

I've been looking for an S60/V70 for a month or so (bought and S60 now) engine wasn't really important, and I did spend some time considering this. Very nice car, a few nice mods, looks well looked after and good condition but... There are A LOT of bargains to be had out there at the moment, and it seems no-one can sell their car at the moment.
In all honesty what put me off this car was the fact that IT HAD LPG. I didn't see this as plus point. To me that is just something to go wrong in one way or another, possibly costing £££'s. I did enquire with a very knowledgeable mechanic friend of mine and was very put off by possible problems caused by having a T5 LPG'd. And to be fair anyone looking to buy a T5 is not going to be concerned with getting excellent economy. If it didn't have LPG I would have been in touch for sure. |

At the end of the day I paid £3k for it back in March and almost £1k on a very good LPG system from Classicswede and we all know he's the resident LPG guru. Now I'm not expecting my money back for sure in fact I'll be taking a big hit regardless of depreciation. When the car was up for sale when I was looking, lots of forum members were saying what a bargain it was and surprised it didn't sell for more. For me it was a toss up between converting a T5 to LPG and a D5. The running costs, initial cost and performance were all in favor of the T5 hence why I went this route. Chris as for problems of LPG you need to speak with Classicswede, Captn Jack et al most running over 150,000 miles on LPG. Far less problems to be had than a D5. I think £3k would be an absolute steal for this. |
