Remote Control 8696042 for MY2007+ Factory Stereo

Hi all

I have the XC90 MY2009 with High Performance stereo and wanted the optional remote control for the stereo.
Why? So I could have full cinema feeling in the back seats: turn stereo on, change source, alter volume...

Hunting and googling reveals very few results for a stereo remote for the XC90, and Volvo have 3 remotes that look very similar, but only one works.

Today I took delivery of a second hand remote from Moldovia (ain't eBay wonderful) and immediately tried it out.

It worked!

So here is the correct remote control for the XC90 facelift MY2007+ stereos:

Note that the description does NOT say XC90, but I have the remote and it works.
All buttons that have a corresponding function on the stereo (Memory, Source, Power, Auto, >>|, |<<, Vol+, Vol-, etc) all work properly.

The remote also has some buttons for functions the XC90 system does not have: Picture and a + and - button. I might use these for some extended functionality one day...

So if you have a XC90 with the factory stereo, and were wanting to get the remote control as shown in the user manual, hunt for part 8696042
