Replace split level load floor
Hi,
Wondering if anybody could help me. I've got a MY2014 D3 V40 and am struggling with the size of the boot. My car has a full sized spare and a split level floor that eats up quite a bit of space. I've looked at some cars in my local dealer that don't have this split floor and the boots seem massive in comparison. I'd like to remove the secondary floor (don't know exactly what to call it) and swap the full sized spare for a space saver spare. Does anybody know what bits i would need to do this? I'm guessing i'd just need the spacesaver, shorter bolt to bolt it to the bottom of the boot floor and a standard boot floor? Are there any parts lists online that i could look at to see what parts Volvo list for the boot? I'm, not 100% sure that what i'm asking will make munch sense so can take a few pics if that helps. Thanks, Andrew |

This looks like it might do the job:

Have a look to the link below. It explains how to mount the two-level boot floor. You can use it to unmount it too:
http://accessories.volvocars.com/en-...-452485-1/2016 However, I don't think the real problem is the two-level boot floor. As you can fold it, it shouldn't be a problem as far as the space below is clear. By the way, you said that you have a full size spare tyre. Are you sure? Most probably you already have the space saver tyre, so the only option to save more space would be to replace it for a repair kit. |

Split level floor
I have a 2013 V40 D2 which has the deep spare wheel well and no spare wheel, just a can of goo, and yes a very deep boot. The later cars, like yours, had a large silencer box fitted under the boot floor (mine does not) which required a shallow wheel well and the raised split level boot floor.
I have fitted the split floor to mine and realised that the boot volume is considerably reduced as you say. Not sure that helps but may explain it a bit more. |

Still, I don't see the point on removing an already installed two-level load floor.
You can normally leave it closed and keep there the stuff that you always carry in the car while keeping the boot visually empty. If you need the full cargo space, you can fold it at any time, like in the photos below. The second photo has another extra organizer installed, but otherwise it would be empty. I cannot imagine how this can be a bad thing to remove... |
