Default rear spoiler drill bit

Hi I am just about to fit a rear spoiler to my S60 and I need a special step drill bit part number 8633152, but I cannot find one, has anybody got one I could buy or borrow, or know of a source or anything that could help me.

I fitted my spoiler last year without using the special drill bit that Volvo recommend.

From what I can remember - I just went through with a small pilot drill bit through the template and then matched the larger drill bit size to the size of the bolts. It worked a treat for mine. Just remember to use a small amount of thread lock on the bolts.

Hi thanks for that does that mean you bid not open the plastic bit on the boot lid to 12.5 to put the spacers in?

TBH I think I went straight through with the drill bit that was just a tad larger than the bolts used to secure the spoiler. I didn't feel the need to drill a larger hole in the plastic boot cover.

It's fairly straight forward, just got to make sure the templates are correctly located before you start to drill.

You have to open the boot 5 or 6 inches so that the boot lid is angled, then drill down perfectly vertical - this then ensures the hole is drilled through the boot at a specific angle - sounds a little tricky but it really isnt.

Just remember to blow out all the swarf and apply loctite to the bolts and don't over tighten them.

Hi again I have no problem doing the job, I just need to get my head round a couple of issues. the spoiler i have got is not a genuine volvo it was bought online unpainted but i believe it was made from a genuine mould. the fixing hole is at right angle to the base dead vertical, the bit i do not understand is if I drill virtical with the boot lifted approx 6 inches, with the boot closed the hole is at a slight angle and the hole in the spoiler is dead vertical how will i get the bolts in.
sorry to sound thick.

Have a quick read through the Volvo spoiler installation guide - it may be of help.
