Default No reception phone satnav or radio

I have a facelift 2007 XC70

I have no radio reception ,when search on am or Fm it just keeps going forever
Also I have no connection on the car phone
And the satnav does not connect???
Is there one component that stops all this working. Just bought the car
Most of the tech is in the boot left side as it’s a Lhd car

Any thoughts I have taken out the radio all connections are good
I have activated the phone sim on my phone so I know it works. Put it in the car phone tray and no dialling tone or if I dial no connection

Ant help please

"UK to phase out 2G and 3G by 2033"

No idea how the phone works, but 2G still appears to be in use. Further, OP appears to be in Bulgaria, which doesn't have a plan to turn off 2G yet, best I can tell.

If 2G was off, I don't think emergency calls would work either as that is how the signal gets from the device to the network, so the phone wouldn't be capable of connecting to the network. Sim (subscriber identification module) just gives your details to connect to the right network, and charge accordingly, which obviously isn't required with emergency calls.

I see what you're saying but presumably if OP has some method of being sure that emergency calls do work (hopefully without wasting their time with a false call!) then some other variable must be at play

either way tbh my vote would be just tear it all out and get a double din touchscreen unit with constantly updated maps, a better screen anyway, bluetooth for your phone, etc. it's 2022 now

well I used this kit:

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/volv...tting-kit.html

but yours is a bit different, possibly this one?

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/volv...tting-kit.html (to be checked first before purchasing!)

also you would need to establish if you have an amp fitted in which case you'd need one of these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181255416...cAAMXQfvlSeslz

pretty much any double din unit really, I used a sony Sony XAV-AX3005DB which came as a kit with reverse camera and DAB aerial, and works with android auto / apple carplay. I don't have any complaints with it.. there are probably cheaper options?

or there are single din kits if you prefer, I saw one recently someone got that had an integral phone holder that pops out, that was pretty tidy

you don't really have to go touchscreen really I suppose you could just get a new more nomal headunit and a phone holder, plug you phone into the 12v for charging and use bluetooth for music/calls, and the phone screen itself for satnav which some might prefer anyway because it could be higher up above the dash, wherever you fit it
