Default Heater/Aircon blower on full blast

My heater/aircon blower has just decided to stay on full blast even if it's set to "0"

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Strongly suspect your resistor has blown as its very common.

Unless you are very handy with a souldering iron I'd buy a new resistor unit. You should be able to test your resistor with a test meter to check its dud. Its located under the glove box. Gatos did a picture guide for this job - search the threads and you will find it. Good luck.

Now I've worked out what the correct terms are - I've just found Gato's "GUIDE: How to replace the heater resistor" which looks like it will solve the problem - thanks Gatos for the great write up

Just need to find one now!

Most probably your heater resistor. See my guide here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=151801

All sorted - replaced the transistor

Total cost £5.89 and £4.17 was delivery!

Total time half an hour....

Lots of cold air for the drive to Valencia tomorrow

Thanks Gatos for the guide
