Milky suggests it's got water in it, this is usually caused by the oil cooler failing in the radiator and is fatal to the gearbox.

To determine the fluid needed you need to know if it's a 4 speed or 5 speed box.

Best way is to look at the plate on top of the box.

AW50-42LE is four speed, needs Dexron 3 fluid.

AW55-50 SN is 5 speed, or look at the gear lever plate a '4' position will mean it's a 5 speed box, needs JWS 3309 fluid.

Exactly as As Chris says I'm afraid - sounds like you need a new radiator if you've got coolant in the gearbox fluid.

Its a straight forward DIY proposition just a bit awkward and a genuine rad will only cost around £100 from FRF so its not the end of the earth. Its a very common weakness, I tend to change the rad as a matter of course on my 850s/x70s - I'll be doing the job on the BoneWagon in the summer.
