Default Yorkshire Welders

Hello folks,

We've finally got our 122s running and we're managing to do the basic mechanical work on her ourselves, however welding is something we cannot tackle whatsoever.

Does anyone know of any good welders in North Yorkshire?

Many thanks!

Not quite North Yorkshire, but I can recommend Dan & Gary @ Priory Auto Engineering, they're in Fitzwilliam close to Pontefract 01977 618411.
They've done work on my amazons in the past so know them to an extent.

We're in an awkward position in as much as we have 2 of the beasts and both need welding before they would be mot, able. The ideal would be to find someone who could come and have a look at them first, so as we don't have the trailer hire costs etc until we know what needs doing.

In hindsight, buying 2 was maybe not the best thing to do as realistically restoring one is going to take all our time and funds! But we aren't sure which is the best to do as yet.

I was amazed to look at your profile and see you have 5 of them!
Once again, many thanks!

Hi there,

I know an excellent welder who's been in the trade for about 30 years. He does everything including TIG. I have spoken to him, and although he is based in Worksop, he would be very happy to travel to Yorkshire.
He has a lot of experience with classic vehicles and can fabricate his own panels if need be.
If you are interested, contact Alan Floyd on 07711 638388 or 01909 500220.

Gordon

Hi

Are you looking to have bits and peices welded, or a proper full bodywork restoration?

If it's the latter, I have a contact who might undertake it. He's a fully experienced, trained bodywork man (welding, prep and paintwork) and can build cars to concours standard if that's what you want, or "smart, solid & usable" which is a good deal cheaper!

His work is high standard, but costs are modest because he works by himself and keeps overheads low. Based in Huddersfield, so not too far away. There can be a waiting list, not sure what his current lead time is.

Incidentally, he is also a trained motorsport mechanic, so could do upgrades (e.g handling improvements) if you wish.

Send me a PM if you want more details.

John
