Default Rear suspension top mounts bolt part number

Hi all,

I'd be very grateful for some help with a part number if possible. I'm replacing the top mounts on the rear suspension of my 2008 V50. I thought something was ratting in the boot... Turns out the driver's side top mount has failed and come away!



It looks like the aftermarket mounts available don't come with the bolts that pass through the mount.

Does anybody have a part number for these? I'd rather not have to reuse the old ones.

Also, any advice gratefully received as I've not done this before. Should I replace they shocks, too?

Its easier to replace them with cap head allen bolts i replaced my shocks with bilstein priced at £64 pr side at the same time it has transformed the ride of the car.

Thanks... Do you remember the specifics for the bolts you used... Are they m8 or m10? Do you remember how long they were? Cheers 👍....

I have to do my repairs 'in the field' as i park it away from home (long story). That's why I have to arrive with all tools and parts ready and hope for no surprises.

use a good six sided socket to remove the existing bolts to avoid rounding the heads they will have thread locker on them un sure of exact size as i just picked from my box of bolts

Well, I wasn't able to remove the 15mm bolts (Sem screws) at the bottom of the shocks. Way too corroded... As soon as I felt them rounding I backed off so the extractor (that I now need to buy) has a chance...

I've been here before with the gearbox drain plug... The fastners
used under the car are bloody awful. For a car of Swedish heritage you'd think that corrosion resistance would be more of a consideration... But then again it's pretty much all Ford parts down there.

The M8's holding what was left of the mount came out with some persuasion but are most definitely too far gone to reuse

New Shocks arrived with the metal lock nut missing on one.

All in all a bit of a disappointing attempt but I'll go back armed with the extractor next time.

Ah, but in Sweden they only put salt on the motorways and use sand/light gravel on other roads and streets during the winters, so corrosion isn't so much of a problem there.

only a small amount of volvo come from sweden they are built in multiple locations . modern cars are disposable items unlike the old volvos which had a superior build quality.

on the lower bolts clean any rust of the part of the bolt that sticks out of the other side spray with some lubricant and always use a six sided impact socket with an impact gun to break them loose . pulling and tugging will always round bolt heads as they will be tight and have thread locker on them .ask me me how i know
