Default Grey Plastic on Front and Rear Bumpers

Hi Guys

The grey plastic on my bumpers is faded, and I'm getting tired treating it, only for it to look rubbish again after a short while.

Do you know if I can buy those plastic sections new, or do you need to get a complete bumper? Any idea of the price?

Many thanks

Try this stuff on your trims it works really well and lasts for ages,

http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/cgi-bin/e...uct&db_pid=121

It dyes the plastic, unlike most silicone type restorers, which wash off quickly.

Can try Autofinesse Revive [heard lots of good reviews about this - not tried it myself though], Ive only tried Back to Black before which didnt last long

The product Im using at the moment isn't very good either for exposed plastics.

Just to say many thanks - Forever Black is the business and has transformed the look of the car.

Took a few coats, but now it is like new. One bottle was more than enough to do the car.

Run a heat gun over it.

Seriously!

Works on black and grey trim, what happens is the exterior of the plastic dries out, and becomes dull or looses its colour, it feels 'dry'.

Gently heating the plastic causes it to sweat, and will bring the colour and finish back.
Don't worry too much about car paint on metal panels, but do not heat painted plastic areas as the sweating will cause issues!

I might do a guide for doing it on the grey mudflaps, as just restored mine. This sweating technique should look good for years, until the exterior starts to dry again.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Wurth plastic dye. It's what the motor trade uses, fantastic stuff.

Salut!

Not tried this one but saw it on another forum and it is quite impressive.

(Just searched youtube and there are quite a few).
