Another alarm question
Morning guys, need a little help in locating the alarm siren on my 95 850, 2.5L 20 V Auto.
Went to get in the car this morning and the remote fob wouldn't diasble to alarm. Changed batteries etc but still no joy so ended up popping the bonnet (while waking half the neighbourhood up) removing fuse 6 to shut the siren off, removed fuses 4 and 8 to disable the immobiliser and was able to start the car. Unfortunately I can't locate the alarm siren itself to disconnect it so I can put fuse 6 back in to get my central locking back. Might be a case of not being able to see the wood for the trees though so I'll hold my hands up if it turns out I'm being a blind old git Did a search on here and it seems that the location of the alarm siren on my car is different to all the T5s that get mentioned as they seem to have it in easy reach on the firewall. I can live without the alarm until I can get a new fob (quoted £45 by a main dealer) but would like to get my deadlocking back ASAP to be on the safe side. Any owners of 95 850 2.5L 20V Autos that can help out? |

I saw that picture when you posted it before jod but unfortunately I have a big blank space between the engine top mount and the larger black disc thing that attaches to the firewall.
I'll dig my camera out and post a picture. |

i would think that unless your alarm is a aftermarket one or a aftermarket siren has been installed it must be in the area of the stabilizer bar as that is where the wiring loom will take it....maybe your loom has been extended and another siren placed elsewhere...last resort is to set the alarm off and track by ear....may annoy the neighbours tho, it will only take a moment
cheers jod

Piccies
Looks like I'm going to have to track it down by ear then. Apart from the issues with this bleeding alarm I love my motor |

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Just had all the curtains twitching again while I traced the siren and the sound seems to be coming from somewhere near the the drivers-side headlamp cluster but can I hell find the siren itself. My guess is it's somewhere on the bodywork but it is hidden by either the washer assembly or the headlamp cluster.
The Haynes manual is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard too. Tried disconnecting both of the plugs mentioned previously and still all hell breaks loose when I open the door. Looks like I'm going to need a visit to a main dealer to sort this one out and fuse 6 will have to remain out until then. |
